A local community service group came together to ensure a warm winter for children in Fairfield County.
The Stamford Rotary Club is donating 400 coats to students enrolled at local Children's Learning Centers.
It's part of the group's annual giving to low-income families struggling to make ends meet.
Fundraisers supported by multiple Stamford businesses allow the group to raise money for each project.
"Our motto is 'service above self,' and we try to do various projects throughout the year that make the community better, and this is just one of the many ways we try to give back," said president of the Stamford Rotary Club Matthew Stendardi.
The club president says coats are available for toddlers and kids up to age 8 years old.
