Family and friends gathered today at Trinity Catholic High School in Stamford to dedicate an American history display known as a Freedom Shrine to a fallen hero.
U.S. Navy SEAL Brian Bill, a Trinity graduate and Stamford native, was among the 38 people killed when their helicopter was shot down over Afghanistan last year.
"We believe Brian is going to be an inspiration for all students who walk through that door," says Trinity Catholic High School Principal Anthony Pavia.
Bill's mother, Pat Perry, says ceremonies like the one held today are tough, but important in her healing process.
Freedom Shrines are usually dedicated to the buildings in which they're housed. Trinity's display is one of the only Freedom Shrines dedicated to a person.
