A Stamford discount store announced donations for victims of a New Year's Eve fire that displaced more than 100 people in Bridgeport.
Second Chance Furniture sells secondhand furniture at affordable prices, and says it's giving victims a second chance to get their lives in order after the devastating fire.
"How much junk do you have in your garage that you don't need?" asks Juliana Hess, who works with the store. "Just give it. It doesn't take very long."
Junkluggers, a hauling company, is working with the store to collect the old furniture and refurbish it.
Second Chance says it will follow recommendations from the city of Bridgeport to determine who needs items like beds, dressers, tables and chairs.
Donna Romano, who has already collected other donations for victims with the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, says Second Chance's involvement gives the victims another boost.
