A Stamford woman says she's lucky to be alive after a single-engine airplane she was flying met with trouble 3,000 feet in the air.
Lauren Busskohl and Daniel Moskovitz, a friend from New York, were headed to South Carolina. Busskohl's friend was piloting the small plane when it lost power and the engine started sputtering.
Moskovitz managed to maneuver the plane close to an airport in North Carolina for an emergency landing. A witness says the plane skidded at least 100 feet and spun around several times before coming to a stop.
Busskohl was checked out at a North Carolina hospital and walked away with only a bruise on her knee. She has returned to her job teaching math at Greenwich High School.
