7ds agoState officials visited the Cedar Beach Marina in Babylon Monday to announce a new effort to protect Long Island's waterways.
The South Shore Estuary Reserve management plan for 2022 is aimed at protecting water quality, living resources and public use for the Great South Bay.
Officials say they hope to protect the natural resource for generations of Long Islanders to come.
The next step is for officials to create an action plan to bring necessary resources to the reserve.
