State officials marked the one-year anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine Thursday - one day ahead of when the war began.
Gov. Ned Lamont and Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz held a rally at Central Connecticut State University to mark the sober date.
They were joined by Ukrainian families who have resettled in the state. Many said they are appreciative for the support residents and organizations have shown them during this time.
Many of the women who spoke at the rally said the hardest part of the war is being separated from their husbands and other family members.
