State Police Sgt. Mohl, killed in Ida’s floodwaters, remembered at Weston soccer match

The Weston Adult Soccer League held its 16th annual “USA v World” match Sunday morning, which paid tribute to Sgt. Brian Mohl, who was patrol car was swept away by flood waterscaused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida in September.

A soccer league in Weston honored the life and memory of a Connecticut State Police sergeant, while also providing families in need with a holiday meal.  
The Weston Adult Soccer League held its 16th annual “USA v World” match Sunday morning, which paid tribute to Sgt. Brian Mohl, who was patrol car was swept away by flood waters caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida in September.
He was a 26-year veteran with the Connecticut State Police.
The Weston Adult Soccer League raised more than $600,000 for local charities since they started 17 years ago. All the money raised from Sunday’s event will be donated to the Child Guidance Center of Mid Fairfield County to provide 60 families with a Thanksgiving meal all in Sergeant Mohl's name.
They will also be donating to the Weston Food Pantry.
