Connecticut State Police detained a suspect Saturday afternoon after receiving reports of an active shooter on the Litchfield Green on Route 202.

The reports came in around 5:18 p.m. State police say there is “no continuous threat to the public," and that the suspect had fired multiple shots into the air.

No injuries were reported and the suspect was transported to a hospital for mental health issues.

Charges are pending.
