A Connecticut state trooper was charged with computer crimes and fully suspended with pay.
Police said Jose Campos, 31, is accused of running a license plate for non-law enforcement purposes.
State Police said they were made aware of the allegations last year.
Officials said the Waterbury state's attorney declined prosecution due to lack of probable cause.
Campos posted bond 10,000 bond and will be in court on Nov. 17.
