The minimum wage in Connecticut increases on Tuesday, meaning the lowest paid workers in the state will begin making $11 an hour.

The rate will then increase each year through 2023, thanks to a law passed earlier this year that takes effect Oct. 1.

Some people working in the shops along Main Street in Norwalk were pleased with the change, saying it will make it easier to find good help.

But not everyone's happy with the wage hike. Some shop owners say they worry it will make it harder to turn a profit.
