Stew Leonard's is one step closer to breaking ground on a supermarket in Orange.
The state Appellate Court has refused to hear an appeal by Save Our Neighborhood (SON), a group opposed to the town's approval of the 145,000-square-foot project. SON has been fighting the proposal, saying it will increase traffic in the area and destroy the overall small-town feel of the community.
Meantime, SON has another appeal pending before the state Appellate Court. The appeal concerns a Superior Court judge's dismissal of its legal challenge to an Inland and Watercourses Commission approval. A decision will not be known until at least 60 days.
