Police say a Bridgeport store owner shot at a man who tried to rob his store Wednesday.
According to police, the shooting happened at about 1 p.m. at Wirth Liquor on Reservoir Avenue. Police say a man walked into the store to try to rob it and hit the store owner over the head with a bottle.
Officers say the store owner grabbed a gun from behind the counter and fired several shots, though he didn't hit anyone.
Police say the store owner had a severe cut on his head and was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center. They say the suspect took off before they arrived.
