The search for a missing mother from New Canaan intensified Wednesday with the focus on Waveny Park, but failed to find any trace of her.
Jennifer Dulos, 50, was last seen on Friday morning and reported missing around 7:30 that evening. Police say they found her 2017 black Chevrolet Suburban that night near the park.
Court records show she was going through a divorce from husband Fotis Dolus. They filed for divorce in 2017. They were scheduled to appear in a Stamford courtroom Wednesday for a hearing.
There are 499 files in the divorce case. It includes custody issues, motions for orders of protection and motions to appoint a guardian. There is also an accusation of abuse regarding their five children being forced to train as champion water skiers, threatening to take them to Argentina and illegally buying a gun. A counter motion denied the claims, but the disputes continued.
File 499 is a letter saying the children are being kept in New York with an armed guard.
Her friends and family issued a statement to the media: "Those who know Jennifer know her to be a devoted mother; an extremely thoughtful, reliable, and organized woman; and attest that she would never, ever, disappear when she is responsible for the lives of five loving and energetic children."
She is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and slender, with brown eyes and shoulder-length brown hair. Her family is urging anyone with information to call New Canaan police.
Police say they are treating the disappearance as a missing persons case and searching for any signs of criminality. Local, state and federal authorities are currently involved in the search.
