A 7-year-old Wethersfield boy has offered his life savings as a reward in the search for Jennifer Dulos—a missing mother of five from New Canaan.
Spokesperson Carrie Luft released a statement on behalf of the friends and family of Jennifer Dulos and says, "His selflessness and generosity have touched our hearts. A little child shall lead them. We urge this young man to keep his savings, but we honor his impulse. This is about more than a reward—it is a call to do something," Luft says.
The boy says he was saving $500 for a trip to Disney but wanted to offer it as a reward in Dulos' disappearance.
The New Canaan Police Department responded to the boy's offer and released a statement saying, "The family is asking that no financial rewards or funds be established at this time. Additionally, the family and the New Canaan Police are asking the public to assist by providing any information to the established tip line and dedicated email address or website."
New Canaan police say their dedicated tip line has received 475 tips from all over the U.S. and even from Australia. They say requests for surveillance video from the day of Jennifer's disappearance have resulted in 80 videos being shared with police.
The New Canaan police and the Connecticut State Police are not looking for volunteer search parties to assist in the search for Jennifer at this time.
