Police: 1 dead in shooting at Danbury condo complex

Police say a man in his late 20s or early 30s was fatally shot early Wednesday morning inside a condominium in Danbury.
Police told News 12 that they were first called to the Sterling Woods Condominiums just after 6 a.m. for a report of gunshots. The victim was found inside a condo on Hancock Drive and died on the way to the hospital. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
His death is being investigated as the city’s first homicide of the year.
Though police continue to search for the suspect, they say the rest of the community isn't in danger.
“We have reason to believe that it was not a random act and that it involves people that know each other,” says Detective Lt. Mark Williams.
A neighbor gave News 12 pictures of investigators searching a storm drain behind the home. It appears to show them recovering a gun from the drain.
Police also towed a red car from scene to be processed for possible evidence.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to call Danbury police.
