Masuk High school locked down after report of suspicious person

Masuk High School was placed on lockdown after a report of a suspicious person on campus, police say.
The Monroe Police Department says the individual was seen sitting in a car in the parking lot of Masuk Wednesday morning.
In a Facebook post, police wrote that the school resource officer noticed the person sitting inside the car and approached them but they sped off.
The car was later found abandoned in the driveway of a home nearby and there was a foot chase with the suspect.
Police say they are searching for the person in the area outside of Masuk and are also using K9s.
All students are safe and Masuk was initially put in a lockdown.
The status has since been changed to a controlled movement with all exterior doors remaining closed and locked.
Monroe police released a surveillance image taken from the body camera of the school resource officer.
Police say they are in close communication with the school and will provide more information as it becomes available.
