Search for missing Ansonia child reaches two weeks

The search for a missing Ansonia child whose mother was found dead inside their home has reached two weeks.
The search began Dec. 2 when police responded to a Myrtle Avenue home, where they found Christine Holloway beaten to death and Vanessa Morales missing.
Investigators searched a donation facility in Hamden operated by the nonprofit Community Crusade for Children, which collects clothes for kids. Ansonia detectives also searched the woods behind a church in Derby.
Despite other media reports that police are expected to identify a suspect in the killing of Holloway, police say they are not releasing any new information on a suspect or person of interest.
Morales' family has shared a new video of the giggling 1-year-old from Nov. 20, nine days before she was last seen.
The child's father, Jose Morales, was taken into custody last week by New Haven police on unrelated charges.
Some people were seen Monday leaving candles and stuffed animals outside the home as they wait for a break in the case. Many area storefronts have the toddler's picture plastered on windows, while some homes have red lights shining out front in support of the effort to find her.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ansonia Police Department at 203-735-1885.
