The FBI is now offering a $10,000 reward in the case of a missing 1-year-old Ansonia girl.
Police say the reward will be given to anyone who has Vanessa Morales, and either returns her unharmed or has specific information that leads to her discovery.
Police are also looking for several items: a Graco car seat that may have a teething ring attached, a multi-colored polka dot comforter, and a gray Eddie Bauer backpack.
The items may be with Vanessa or may have been thrown away, police say. They continue to stress they believe she's alive.
"That's what our driving force is," says Lt. Patrick Lynch with the Ansonia Police Department. "When you see things like tha missing that would be used to care for a child, that gives us the impetus that she is still out there and she's with someone. And we want to bring her home safe."
Vanessa and her mother, Christine Holloway, were last seen Nov. 29. Police responded to Holloway's home Dec. 2 when she didn't show up for work.
She was found beaten to death with Vanessa missing.
Vanessa's father, Jose Morales, has been named a suspect in both her disappearance and her mother's death. Police believe he was the last person with them.
A convicted felon, Morales is being held on unrelated weapons charges after police found two stun guns during a search of his home.
