Police in Norwalk say they have arrested a man who was previously arrested in August for showing interest in a mass shooting.

Police say they received a disturbance call just after 5 a.m. Saturday from a complainant who said he was pushed into a wall.

Officers say they could hear yelling and screaming as they approached the Bedford Avenue home, where Norwalk Lt. Paul Resnick says they found blood on the floor and walls.

The victim says 22-year-old Brandon Wagshol assaulted him after he asked Wagshol to turn his laptop volume down. At that moment, an argument ensued and police say Wagshol pushed the victim into a hallway wall, grabbed a metal pipe and hit the victim over the head.

Authorities say the victim suffered a large gash on his head, a fractured nose, an elbow contusion and a hematoma on his foot.

Wagshol is charged with assault in the third degree, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Back in August, a family member told the FBI Wagshol was trying to buy high capacity magazines from out of state. Police then uncovered social media posts from Wagshol suggesting a plan for a mass shooting. This led them to raid Wagshol's apartment where they found guns, ammunition and tactical equipment illegal for the state of Connecticut.

Wagshol's defense claimed the items were purchased for Wagshol's use as a sportsman and nothing else.

Wagshol's bond is set at $500,000 and is due in court this Monday.
