Stratford residents on Soundview Avenue woke up to pick up shattered glass from their smashed car windows.
A neighbor who asked not to be identified, said she was awoken by Stratford police knocking on her front door.
"I'm like it's 7 a.m. It's not something good," said the resident. “Someone had broken into our car and broke our window."
She wasn't the only victim.
"I drove down our street and another street and I counted about 15 cars with their windows broken," said the resident.
She's lived in the neighborhood for about 10 years and says the incident is upsetting and surprising.
"This is something you don't expect to happen, especially around here because it's such a quiet neighborhood. The holidays are around the corner, and money is needed," said the neighbor.
Other residents told News 12 that their cars were broken into, but nothing was taken.
"Do not leave your gifts or anything important in your car, because you don't think it's going to happen to you...and then it does," said the neighbor.
It was not immediately clear if police had any suspects.
