A strike at two local nursing homes has apparently been averted for now.
The union representing dozens of local workers said today it has agreed to postpone a strike scheduled for later this month.
Workers at St. Camillus in Stamford and St. Joseph Manor in Trumbull were set to walk off the job April 24.
Union leadership says it called off the strike temporarily after the governor's office stepped in and asked for a postponement to give labor and management more time to work out a contract.
