A new study has found that texting while behind the wheel is on the rise, despite being against the law in New York and 34 other states.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a countrywide survey of 6,000 people found that every two in 10 drivers have sent messages or emails while on the road.
Many safety advocates are now pushing for a national ban on the dangerous distraction.
