With swine flu swirling around the world, and concerns over the virus dominating the air waves, Bronx residents are starting to change their health habits.
Richard Cruz is one of those New Yorkers. Cruz avoids crowded places - instead he does his banking from home - to avoid getting sick, but that's not all.
"I say 'how're you doing,' and refuse to shake hands," Cruz says.
With residents fearing germs on everything people touch, parents are hunting for hand sanitizer, only to find it sold out at many stores, they say.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, there are more than 140 confirmed cases of H1N1 virus - swine flu - in the United States, including 50 in New York.
