A Stratford Public Schools teacher's aide turned herself in to police Tuesday following accusations that she sexually assaulted a student.
Police say they were notified in October about 46-year-old Kyle Damato-Kushel's inappropriate behavior with a student.
Damato-Kushel worked at Wooster Middle School.
School officials say they immediately placed her on administrative leave. She was fired last month after the Department of Children and Families confirmed the allegations.
Damato-Kushel was released on a $50,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Court Dec. 21.
School officials say they wanted to assure parents that they do not tolerate those actions, regardless of the fact that the events allegedly took place outside of the school.
