Team USA is advancing to the knockout round of the World Cup, despite a tough loss to Germany.
Bronx soccer fans were out in full force Thursday afternoon, with many packing Jimmy Ryan's in Country Club to catch the action.
The U.S. ended up with a 1-0 loss to the Germans in Group G, but managed to hold onto second place when Portugal defeated Ghana 2-1 in a simultaneous game.
USA will now go on to play the Group H winner, Belgium.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo was meanwhile striving for the title of best boss after signing an executive order to give state employees an extra hour for lunch so that they could watch the full match, saying "The state of New York stands strongly behind Team USA."
