Bridgeport police say a teenager is dead after leading them on a chase that ended in a crash on Route 8.
Police say it stemmed from an armed robbery on McKinley Avenue around 6 p.m. Thursday.
They say officers tried to pull over the car, which had four teens inside, but the driver took off.
The chase eventually ended up on the northbound side of Route 8. Police say the car was stolen out of Southport.
Police say the driver, who was 15 years old, lost control, crashed into the guardrail and rolled down an embankment before hitting two trees just north of the Route 25 split.
They say 18-year-old Corbin Cooper, of Bridgeport, who had been thrown from the car, died in the hospital.
Officials say two teens remain in the hospital with serious injuries.
The fourth teen suffered minor injuries and is now in custody.
Police tell News 12 that guns were recovered from the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
