A Stamford man with a loaded schedule is gearing up to run the New York City Marathon for a cause that is important to him.
Junau Boucard says he had never been a runner up until he started training for the 26.2-mile trek seven months ago.
Along with training, Boucard became a father in September, is an MBA student and works full-time.
Despite having little time to even sleep, Boucard is still prepared to do good by running. He visited Vietnam earlier this year with a study abroad group, and the trip inspired him to run for donations to
Blue Dragon Children's Foundation.
The foundation helps Vietnamese children in crises by offering rescue, shelter, education and more.
"It will help impact the life of at least one kid and that will have tremendous impact on the future," says Boucard.
Boucard says he also hopes he makes his daughter proud and that one day she will run a marathon to give back to her community.
