A group of volunteers spent Saturday morning at the Trumbull Library making blankets for critically ill children in nearby hospitals.
Volunteers with IMPACTrumbull spent hours making, cutting and tying fleece blankets for Brady’s Smile, a nonprofit that supports critically ill children in hospitals across Fairfield and New Haven counties.
IMPACT stands for Individuals Making Positive Advances in our Community of Trumbull. The organization supports the community through hands on monthly projects and collections and is known for its inclusion of child volunteers.
Organizers say they want children to be involved in every step so they can learn the importance of giving back and carry it with them for the rest of their lives.
They say the children set a goal of 100 blankets for the project.
This event marked IMPACTrumbell’s 100th project, circling back to Brady’s Smile after seven years since it was its very first charity recipient back in 2012.
