It may be difficult to get an Uber ride or food delivery today as thousands of Uber, Lyft and DoorDash drivers plan to shut off their apps to protest.
The group going on strike, Justice For App Workers, will be refusing rides to and from airports, including Bradley International Airport, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Workers are protesting because they want better pay and safer working conditions.
Last year, Connecticut drivers pushed lawmakers to pass a bill to guarantee $1.30 per mile plus compensation for damage and maintenance.
Uber suggested if that bill had passed, they would have pulled out of Connecticut completely.
Uber responded and said, "These types of events have rarely had any impact on trips, prices or driver availability, and we expect the same tomorrow. That's because the vast majority of drivers are satisfied.”
Connecticut Airport Authority is advising passengers to order local taxi services for transportation.
