16h agoUnited Illuminating crews from Connecticut are headed down south to help restore power in Louisiana following Hurricane Ida.
UI says crews from Connecticut as well as its sister companies in New York and Maine are expected to head down south today.
Connecticut's other electrical supplier, Eversource, sent around 200 line crews to Louisiana to help with power restoration yesterday.
Around 20 line workers and a handful of support staff are making the trip down south.
UI says crews left from headquarters in Orange this morning and could be down in the Pelican State for a month.
