An undercover police officer was struck and grazed by a bullet fired from a car during a surveillance operation on I-84 in Waterbury, officials say.

An undercover police officer was struck and grazed by a bullet fired from a car during a surveillance operation on I-84 in Waterbury, officials say.
The incident happened on Wednesday at the Chase Parkway I-84 East entrance ramp at 10:08 p.m.
Officials say the Connecticut State Police Violent Crimes Task Force were conducting an undercover surveillance operation in the area when their car was shot at multiple times by a suspect or suspects in another car, which drove off.
The driver of the police car, a Naugatuck officer, that was struck in the chest and shoulder area sustained a graze gunshot wound and was treated at Waterbury Hospital and released for what was considered to be a minor injury.
Police say there was one more officer in the vehicle but they were not struck by gunfire. 
Both Waterbury Police Department and Connecticut State Police are working to track down the car.
