The President of United Technologies Corp., the company that owns Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, says UTC will not give in to the Teamsters Union. More than 3,500 hourly employees are now in their second week of a strike at Sikorsky. Like the company's president, the workers say they're not budging. The union is supplementing their paychecks with a little more than $230 a week. The union refuses to sign a new contract with the helicopter maker, saying the agreement would double workers' health insurance co-payments in the first year and increase 15 percent in the following years. Since the strike started there have been meetings between to the two sides, but no formal negotiations. Related story: Sikorsky strike goes into day seven with no end in sight
