Bridgeport police say the quick thinking of some residents prevented a small fire from growing and potentially spreading.
Investigators say surveillance video shows 27-year-old Moises Contreras, of Bridgeport, walking up to an outside staircase on Park Avenue and Gregory Street around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
Officials say Contreras then threw an incendiary device, possibly a molotov cocktail, into to the home.
They say the device triggered a small fire, but say nearby residents rushed to help extinguish the blaze before firefighters arrived.
Police say they have a warrant out for Contreras' arrest.
