Mourners held a wake Friday for a teenager who died in double-fatal car crash in Shelton earlier this week.
Shalymar Herrera, 18, had graduated from Bridgeport Military Academy last year and just completed her basic training in the U.S. Army.
She hoped to attend the University of Connecticut at Stanford in the future.
Police say that the pregnant, 23-year-old fellow passenger Briana Carter of Bridgeport was also killed in the crash.
Lawrence Carter, the driver, was critically injured.
"I was heartbroken, totally heartbroken... to know that one of our students who just recently graduated passed away so suddenly, so young, just broke my heart," said Chaila Robinson, of Bridgeport.
The family says Herrera's body will be flown to Puerto Rico for a funeral and burial there on Saturday.
