A lawyer in Wallingford is accused of purchasing 40 bags of heroin from his client in her driveway.

James McCann, 68, is a criminal defense attorney.

A month-long investigation was launched after neighbors complained of drug sales at the home.

Detectives found an additional 100 bags of heroin, packaging materials, a digital scale and $3,000 in cash at the home of his client, Heather McKee.

Both are expected back in court later this month.
