Hundreds of Westport residents came out for the town's annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
The holiday tradition took place Wednesday outside the grounds of the town hall on Myrtle Avenue.
Staples High School choir entertained spectators with seasonal songs and the highlight of the night included a visit from Santa Claus.
The town's first selectman, Jim Marpe, says for many, the lighting kicks off the holiday season, and brings everyone together.
