Norwalk police say a woman is facing several charges after leading them on a chase early yesterday morning.
Police say it started with an attempted traffic stop at about 2:30 a.m. on Main Street.
They say Jenna Jewell, 20, didn't have her headlights on.
Police say Jewell refused to stop and went through several stop signs and a red light.
Officers say Jewell eventually stopped near the Maritime garages. They say when they opened her door and brought her out, she smelled of alcohol and marijuana, and found a marijuana grinder in her car.
They say when Jewell was taken into custody, she became verbally abusive toward the officers.
Police say when they brought her back to the booking cage at headquarters she then got physical with two officers. They say she punched them in the face several times. Police say one was taken to the hospital with minor injuries to the face and has been released.
Jewell is due in court later this month on several charges including DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and assaulting an officer.
