Melasia Harris says a Fourth of July celebration turned into the unimaginable after she says she was raped.
Police say they are investigating a report of a rape that happened around 3 a.m. Saturday.
Harris says she was with a group of people she had just met, and when one of them sexually assaulted her, the group took off.
She says multiple people saw her struggling, but help never came.
“You mean to tell me I was at Coney Island on Fourth of July of weekend and this person pulled my pants down outside in front of people and everybody just laughed and recorded and they made fun of me. And nobody helped," said Harris.
Harris says she saw that man's face again on social media in disturbing videos, where he appears to be taking advantage of other women.
She says she's telling her story so no one else has to endure what she did.
“Everybody keeps using that word brave. Like, it's just the fact that he's walking the street. And I don't feel good. How does anybody feel good knowing is a person like this walking around," said Harris.
News 12 reached out to the man Harris claims was responsible for the crime, but the NYPD says no arrests have been made at this time.
The NYPD says the Special Victims Unit is investigating this incident.
