Yale University says it's devoting $50 million to boost faculty diversity. 
University officials say the money will be used over the next five years. 
Officials say initiatives over the last three decades have helped create a more diverse faculty, but more needs to be done. 
The school's effort also calls for more resources to support faculty recruitment and development.
