Two southwestern Connecticut businesses joined forces to create a way to fight cancer.
"Micalizzi's Italian Ice and Ice Cream" in Bridgeport and "The Cast Iron Chop House" in Trumbull teamed up to create a theme drink called "The Cast Iron-Micalizzi's Blue Crush."
The owners of the businesses say the drink combines the rum of one business with the Italian ice of the other and it will be used to promote an upcoming cancer fundraiser.
Proceeds from the drink will go to support "Swim Across the Sound" later this month.
"Swim Across the Sound" raises money for cancer research at St. Vincent's Medical Center.
