State police: Driver fatally struck pedestrian on I-95 and left scene

Police describe the vehicle as being either gray or silver 2015-2018 Ford Transit Van with possible damage to the left side.

State police are looking for the driver who they said fled the scene after fatally striking a pedestrian Sunday on I-95 south in Greenwich.

Police say it happened near Exit 4.

Authorities identified the victim as Cristhian Carvahal Saldana, of White Plains, New York.

State police say Saldana was standing in the left lane when the vehicle struck him.

He was taken to Greenwich Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police describe the vehicle as being either gray or silver 2015-2018 Ford Transit Van with possible damage to the left side.

The roadway was closed for several hours and has since reopened.
