A beloved priest within the Fairfield community has died.
The Rev. Charles H. Allen served as alumni chaplain and special assistant to the president at Fairfield University before his retirement.
The school's president, Mark Nemec, says the reverend's retirement served as a true testament to his character.
"So many of our alumni families were blessed to have had Fr. Allen at their side – in times of need and in times of greatest happiness,” Nemec said. “The warmth of his presence, his sense of humor, and his ready laugh were a blessing at every encounter."
