Blumenthal joins fight against sex offenders on Web
State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal has joined seven other states in the fight to get sex offenders removed from the popular MySpace.com.
?We?ve been told there are thousands of convicted sex offenders with profiles on MySpace, using their real names,? Blumenthal said.
Attorney generals from eight states wrote a letter to MySpace requesting the site turn over all the sex offender information. The letter also requests the sex offenders? profiles be removed from the Web site altogether.
Meanwhile, MySpace officials said they launched software earlier this month to identify and remove sex offenders from the site.
AP wire reports contributed to this report.
