News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Hilda Estevez says Connecticut will see a sunny and windy start to the new workweek before a chance for a wintry mix for Thursday.
NEW: Bitter blast as feels-like temperatures drop to 20s, near teens for Christmas weekend.
NOW: Quiet, cold evening and start into new week.
NEXT: Monitoring another round of wet, windy and snowy conditions by Thursday-Friday timeframe. The News 12 Storm Watch team is monitoring for timing and impacts on significant storm and holiday travel disruptions.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear with wind chills near 20-25. Lows hover 27 degrees.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny with west wind 10-15mph, creating wind chills near 20s. Highs near 40. Lows near 26.
TUESDAY: Sunshine with highs near 39. Lows drop to 24.
WEDNESDAY: WINTER SOLSTICE - Another sunny, dry day. Becoming cloudy at night. Seasonal feel with high temperature of 41. Lows near 29.
THURSDAY: Wind, rain and snow mix possible with new system. Highs for now look mild with 48 degrees. Lows near 38.
FRIDAY: Cloudy with tail end rain, possible evening flurries as temperatures drop fast. Highs near 53. Big temperature swing as lows drop near 20.
THE WEEKEND: Partly sunny skies. Christmas looks dry but frigid. The coldest blast of the season comes this weekend. Highs subfreezing and colder on Sunday with highs near 31-26.
