A Bridgeport man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for accidentally killing his friend.

Giovanni Ramos shot his friend John Patrick Jr. in the head while they played with a loaded gun in June 2021.

Ramos says he did not know the gun was loaded.

Ramos was 21 at the time, and Patrick was 22.

He pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter, stealing a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit.
