Bridgeport education officials met with concerned parents to discuss reports of contaminated fields at Longfellow School.Parents say students have not been allowed to play outside due to field contamination and testing equipment placed outside. They also say their children were sent home with a letter detailing the issue. Temporary fencing was put up and students are advised to keep the windows closed, but News 12 Connecticut found parts of the fence toppled over and several windows open. School officials say the building is scheduled to be renovated, but parents say they want an immediate resolution to avoid health problems.The school superintendent held a forum Thursday evening, but parents say they used the meeting as an opportunity to speak up about the problem.
