A civil rights trial is set to begin Monday involving a Bridgeport police officer accused of beating a man.
News 12 previously reported about a video that allegedly shows the beating of Orlando Lopez-Soto in 2011.
It shows three police officers kicking Lopez-Soto after he was shot with a stun gun in Beardsley Park following a car chase.
Two officers pleaded guilty to civil rights charges in June.
The third officer, Clive Higgins, chose to go to trial. He has been a Bridgeport police officer since 2002, but is on unpaid suspension.
He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
