Police say one person was injured
in a shooting at Park Avenue and Vine Street in Bridgeport Sunday morning.
They say gunfire broke out around
10:30 a.m., and that the victim's injuries were not life-threatening.
People on their way to Sunday
church services tell News 12 Connecticut that shootings in broad daylight are a
reminder of the constant threat of gun violence.
City Councilwoman
Jeanette Herron, who came to survey the crime scene, says you can't totally
isolate yourself from what's going on in the community. She says there have
been too many killings recently, and everybody has a role to play in curbing
that trend.
Police say the
shooting was minor. They're asking anybody who can help with their
investigation to call 203-576-TIPS.
