The Bridgeport City Council has voted to pay $85,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by the man at the center of a scuffle five years ago.
Councilwoman Lydia Martinez confirms the Council voted Monday night to settle the suit filed by Cecil Young.
Young was speaking to the Council in May 2010 when he began arguing with Councilwoman Evette Brantley.
Councilman Angel DePara then began to wrestle with Young, and the two eventually fell onto a bench.
Young sued the city alleging his back, neck, and an arm were injured that night, and that he also suffered emotional distress, humiliation and loss of his constitutional rights.
