A mental health clinic that has been serving Bronx residents for the past 50 years has announced it will close its doors for good at the end of August.
In a letter to some 300 patients, officials at the Independent Consultation Clinic claimed they are closing because "it has become impossible for ICC to comply" with the requirements imposed by the New York Office of Mental Health.
NYOMH officials, however, say they have been trying to bring the clinic into compliance for months before revoking its license. The ICC is set to shutter its doors Aug. 31.
